An amusing Cane with a perched boy. France, ca. 1900

A little boy peeking out from the hollow of a tree trunk captures the scene, his facial features showing his joy are carved on ivory and executed masterfully, then applied on a Neflier-wood shaft. This lovely and original piece of art is 4 cm high x 2,5 cm lengthwise, it ends with a bimetal ferule, the O.L. is 89 cm, and without chips, cracks, or hairlines the condition is perfect.

This walking cane is astonishing and seductive, it is still wearable.
