Neoclassic acanthus leaves Walking stick. France, ca. 1900

This Elegant hook handle is processed in silver and finished with high skills in a beautiful Belle Époque design representing branches of acanthus leaves on a Neoclassical composition. It measures 8,5 cm high x 11 cm to the side, it is on top of a beautiful sound Macassar ebony shaft and finished with a bimetal ferrule. The O.L. is 89 cm and without chips or cracks on the metal or the wood, the condition is excellent. It is still a very wearable cane.

In terms of design, the handlebar hook is considered optimal, easy to carry in the hands, it can always be hooked on the fingers and not let it fall, and above all, it can be easily hung from the other arm while keeping your hands busy.

Notable is that cast figural silver handles were the top of the line of their kind, by far costlier than the standard, molded production, and the most durables.
